The newly elected leadership of Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnic (SSANIP) led by Comrade Adebanjo Ogunsipe has canvassed support for polytechnic and technical education in Nigeria.

Comrade Ogunsipe rallied the support during a courtesy call on Management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta.

Adebanjo in his remarks eulogized the fatherly role the rector, Dr. Samson Odedina led management team played in the days leading to his emergence as president of the staff union, adding that he would use his office to champion an improvement in polytechnic education in Nigeria.

He said technical and vocational institutions across the country were the best partners the country needed to scale its developmental plans.

Recall that the Governing Board Chairman of National Board for Technical Education, Prof (Mrs.) Modupe Adelabu, made the same declaration less than a week ago.

The SSANIP President promised to mobilize necessary agencies of government such as Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) for the development of polytechnic education across the country.

Adebanjo also appreciated sister staff union on the campus for their support before, during and after the elections adding that his victory at the convention was a product of several inputs.

In his reaction, the rector of the polytechnic Dr. Odedina dedicated the victory of Comrade Ogunsipe as President of Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnic (SSANIP) to Governor Dapo Abiodun, MFR for returning MAPOLY to status quo after the protracted issues that nearly grounded activities on the institution’s campus.

The rector equally pledged to honour and support any laws aimed at improving the welfare of staff on the polytechnic campus, adding that the successes recorded by the institution would not have been possible without the hard work of its work force.
