In the yesteryears
peace traveled out
politicians couldn’t bail us
Nigerians suffered a huge loss
There was a great division
War of arms rented the air
Cries became a routinal sound
Sounds of bombs became musical tunes
Hues sweep across the whole land
Toddlers became men
They fought to save the land
The people
Dealt a great blow
Drenched in blood
Peaceful atmosphere turn moist
Women shiver
Men held coldly
Young allay fear
Before the light goes off again…
Why should Nigerians maim Nigerians?
War isn’t just the way
Our people can’t be slained
Our peace cannot be bothered
Let’s give peace a chance!
